Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a Steam App ID?

It’s the string of numbers in the URL of any Steam store page. For example, if you go to https://store.steampowered.com/app/1245620/ELDEN_RING/, the App ID is 1245620. Just paste that number into your WishlistEngine dashboard.

I just added a game, why is my historical chart empty?

WishlistEngine relies on daily snapshots to build your charts. Once you add a game, our automated scraper will capture its first data point within 24 hours. Check back tomorrow, and you will see your chart begin to draw! (Note: Pro users can bypass this wait time by clicking the “Force Scrape” button).

How often does the Twitch Influencer Radar update?

The radar refreshes every 12 hours. We cache this data on our servers to ensure lightning-fast load times on your dashboard and to comply strictly with Twitch’s API rate limits. If a streamer goes live playing a competitor’s game, they will appear on your next cycle.

Why does it say “Error” when I try to track massive AAA games like Counter-Strike 2?

Our automated pipeline is optimized for standard indie and mid-tier Steam pages. Massive flagship games owned by Valve (like CS2 or Dota 2) use heavily customized, hard-coded community hubs that block standard data retrieval. As an indie developer, you should be tracking direct competitors in your specific genre and price bracket, rather than outliers!

What is the difference between the Free and Pro tiers?

Free Tier: Perfect for getting your feet wet. You can track your own game and a limited number of competitors, allowing you to see your basic growth trajectory.

Pro Tier: The complete arsenal. Unlock unlimited custom Workspaces (track different sets of competitors for different games), access the live Twitch Influencer Radar to generate marketing leads, and unlock the “Force Scrape” tool for instant data refreshes.
